Ecological context matters toward more ecologically realistic fire-ash impact assessments in grassy ecosystems

Abstract

This manuscript was initially created as a reply to two recently published articles using the same unrepresentative grassland ash, which made management recommendations based on very weak evidence. After several meetings, we agreed to transform the initial reply letter into an opinion paper, not mentioning those papers, as long as the authors provided a thorough correction to their problematic last paragraph. So far the correction has not yet been published.
